Description of Temporary Role:
The Wholesale Planning and Forecasting Manager is responsible for managing the merchandise planning and forecasting processes for the Wholesale channel as well as for assigned key accounts. Serves as the key liaison with the sales directors and finance team, in the development of sales plans to achieve agreed upon financial targets. Analyzes current business trend, market feedback, and historical data; makes recommendations to adjust plans based on these analyses. Directs and monitors the wholesale planning team. Key partners include Sales Directors Merchandising and Analytics team, Finance team and Production Planning team.
• In partnership with Merchandising, Sales and Finance, oversee the development, analysis, and reconciliation process from top-down strategic growth plans, to category sales plans and bottom-up item level forecasts.
• Actively involved in the assortment process, built by Marketing and Sales, for which wholesale accounts, and clearly understands and monitors the forecasting deadlines for the Sales Team.
• Understands seasonal merchandise timelines and channel flow strategies; translate between sales and production planning to ensure the proper quantity of product is available to maximize sales, profitability and customer expectations.
• Upon receipt of sales forecast from Sales Directors, validate forecast against prior history, current trends and other available analyses and recommend adjustments as needed. Serves a key check and balance role in the forecasting process.
